Claire Follent, Founder, Director, and Senior Speech Pathologist
Getting a Bachelor of Speech Pathology in 2003 from LaTrobe University was the easy part. Working for over 15 years in the public and private sectors with children and adults with a range of acquired and developmental disabilities, including severely challenging behaviour- that was the testing part. No amount of study could prepare me for what I was to learn from the roles I have had including being a senior clinician on a specialist behaviour support team, a case manager and speech pathologist for people with acquired brain injuries in the community, a speech pathologist working in a specialist school for children who were deaf and had developmental disabilities. These experiences are what Malvern Speech Pathology are built on.
Since opening my private practice in 2014 it has been a pleasure working closely with the Maternal and Child Health nurses in the Stonnington Council, and providing education sessions to a number of kindergartens in the area. I was honored to have been invited to present in the Stonnington Council's Grow With Us parent education series in mid 2015. It is my aim to do my best to support families and clients in two key fields: early intervention and disability. I am a certified Hanen Speech Pathologist, attend regular education programs and seminars, and am a certified practicing speech pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia.
When you contact me you get my full attention and all my effort. I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you.
Claire with her three children Laura, Theo & Georgina.
Isabella Arthur, Senior Speech Pathologist
Since graduating from LaTrobe University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology, I have worked in a wide range of public and community roles both in Melbourne and across the UK. These varied roles, in addition to my work in training and development, have greatly enhanced my skills, but it is undoubtedly my role as a mum that has given me the greatest perspective of working with children and their families.
I am thrilled to be working with Claire at Malvern Speech Pathology. I am passionate about early childhood intervention and providing education to different members of the community including parents, teachers, nurses and other allied health professionals.
I have a special interest in brain injury, voice and stuttering, as well as working with families to provide holistic care. Like Claire I am a Hanen certified speech pathologist, and I have recently updated my training in the Lidcombe Program for stuttering. Additionally, I am a certified practicing speech pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. I endeavour to present practical, supportive and positive therapy for my clients and their families. I look forward to working with you.

Since graduating from LaTrobe University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Speech Pathology, I have worked in a wide range of school and community roles both in Melbourne and in the United States. I have trained both in the Australian and American systems which has broadened my speech pathology knowledge and practice.
I am excited to be working with Claire at Malvern Speech Pathology. I utilise the approaches of goal-directed treatment and parent education- whether to involve parents in the therapeutic process or to provide information counselling.
I have a special interest in the area of language including vocabulary development, reading comprehension, syntax and phonological awareness. I also am experienced in therapy for stuttering. I am committed to ongoing professional development and I am a certified practicing speech pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. I endeavour to present fun, practical, and positive therapy for my clients and their families. I look forward to working with you.
